ALBANIA RENEWABLE INCENTIVES

Albania Renewable Incentives are approved by the Ministry of the Energy and Industry. The main scheme supporting renewable energy sources in Albania is a feed-in tariff applied currently only to small hydro power plants <10 MW and 10MW>x>15 MW based on concession agreements signed for 15 years. The public energy supplier is obliged to pay a regulated tariff for the electricity generated from renewable energy sources.

The grid operator is obliged to connect to its system any energy generating plant meeting the conditions for connection. Renewable energy is not given priority in regards to grid connection.
